Take one capsule per day orally, or as directed by your physician.

Swallow the capsule whole with water. Take orally, usually once daily, at a consistent time each day. Do not crush or chew the capsule unless directed otherwise by your physician.

Biotin is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin that functions as a coenzyme for five carboxylase enzymes: acetyl-CoA carboxylase I, acetyl-CoA carboxylase II, pyruvate carboxylase, methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase, and propionyl-CoA carboxylase. These enzymes are essential for fatty acid synthesis, gluconeogenesis, and amino acid metabolism. Biotin acts as a carrier of activated carbon dioxide and is covalently attached to carboxylase enzymes via the ε-amino group of a lysine residue. Intestinal absorption of biotin is mediated primarily by the sodium-dependent multivitamin transporter (SMVT). As a water-soluble vitamin, excess biotin is excreted in the urine.

Lactation
