In addition, high-dose biotin can significantly interfere with immunoassay-based laboratory tests (including thyroid function tests, troponin levels, and hormone assays), potentially producing false-positive or false-negative results. Patients should inform their healthcare provider and laboratory staff that they are taking biotin before undergoing blood tests.
