ScarFix gel is indicated for following scar treatment
Allantoin gel should be applied once daily for at least 8 weeks on the new scars and for 3-6 months on existing scars. Continue with a circular motion until the gel is completely absorbed. Treatment may take several weeks or months depending on size of existing scars and contracture.
It should be used as soon as wound has closed. Don't use Allantoin gel on stitches - wait until any stitches have been removed.
Use in Children: Allantoin gel is safe and tolerable from 6 months of age.
Allantoin gel stimulates cellular proliferation. It also supports the development of healthy cells. Allantoin is convenient substance for the treatment of scar through its properties of stimulating epithelization and providing elastic surface formation. Allantoin gel also contains extract of allium cepa which is derived from the membrane of allium cepa (onion membrane). It shows antiphlogistic effects through inhibition of in inflammatory mediators' secretion and anti-allergenic effect. Extract of Allium cepa inhibits growth of fibroblast of different origin, particularly kelloidal fibroblasts. It has also bactericidal effect. While these properties stimulate primary wound healing, it prevents non-physiological scar formation.
ScarFix gel is generally well tolerated even on long term use. In rare cases some local irritations are reported such as slight erythema and itching.
Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
Avoid contact with eyes, the inside of the nose or mouth and other mucous membranes. For external use only.
There are no studies conducted during pregnancy and lactation periods. Therefore, it should be used with caution.
ScarFix is not known to affect, or to be affected by, other medicines.
Do not store above 30°C. Keep away from light and out of the reach of children.
