Fecilax Effervescent Powder is indicated for

• Constipation
• Hemorrhoids or piles
• Bowel regulation for bedridden patients

Adults and children over 12 years

1–2 spoonfuls (5.38–10.76 gm) at night with at least 150 ml of water, or as directed by a physician.

Children (6–12 years)

0.5–1 spoonful at night with at least 150 ml of water, or as directed by a physician.

Continuous use exceeding 2 weeks should only be undertaken under medical supervision.

1. Measure 1–2 spoonfuls of powder (for adults and children over 12) into a glass.
2. Add at least 150 ml of water (or fruit juice, milk, or a warm beverage).
3. Stir well and consume immediately after preparation.

Fecilax combines two complementary laxative mechanisms.

Psyllium (Ispaghula Husk) acts as a bulk-forming laxative. Its mucilage content absorbs water in the intestine, swelling to form a gel-like mass that increases stool volume and softens its consistency, facilitating passage through the digestive tract.

Senna extract acts as a stimulant laxative. Its active constituents — hydroxyanthracene glycosides (Sennoside B) — stimulate intestinal motility and increase water absorption into the bowel.

Together, the two ingredients accelerate intestinal transit and increase filling pressure, relieving constipation and reducing the straining associated with hemorrhoids. Psyllium additionally soothes the gastrointestinal mucosa and may help maintain healthy cholesterol and glucose levels.

Occasional: Allergic reactions may occur.

With prolonged or chronic use, loss of electrolytes — particularly potassium — may develop. This effect is reversible upon discontinuation of the product.

Fecilax should not be used in patients with

• Gastrointestinal obstruction (esophageal, gastric, intestinal, or colonic)
• Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus
• Active inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis)
• Appendicitis or suspected appendicitis
• Unexplained abdominal pain
• Children under 12 years of age (unless specifically directed by a physician)

• Do not use continuously for more than 2 weeks without medical supervision.
• Chronic use may cause potassium loss; monitor electrolytes with prolonged use.
• Keep the container tightly closed after each use to protect from moisture.

Children (6–12 years)

The recommended dose is 0.5–1 spoonful at night with at least 150 ml of water. Use in this age group should be under medical supervision.

Children under 12 years

Bedridden patients

Fecilax is indicated for bowel regulation in bedridden patients; use should be monitored by a healthcare professional.
