For the temporary relief of nasal decongestiom due to the commomn cold, hay fever or other upper respiratpry allergies. Temporarily relieves nasal stuffiness. Decongests nasal passages: shrinks swollen membranes. Temporarily restores freer breathing through the nose. Ranitidine competitively blocks histamine at H2-receptors of the gastric parietal cells which inhibits gastric acid secretion. It does not affect pepsin secretion, pentagastrin-stimulated intrinsic factor secretion or serum gastrin.
Adults and children 12 years of age and older: 1 bottle every 4-6 hours. Do not exceed 4 bottles in 24 hours. Children under 12: Do not use
Ranitidine is well tolerated and side effects are usually uncommon. Altered bowel habit, dizziness, rash, tiredness, reversible confusional states, headache, decreased blood counts, muscle or joint pain have rarely been reported.

Patients hypersensitive to Ranitidine
Delayed absorption and increased peak serum concentration with propantheline bromide. Ranitidine minimally inhibits hepatic metabolism of coumarin anticoagulants, theophylline, diazepam and propanolol. May alter absorption of pH-dependent drugs (e.g. ketoconazole, midazolam, glipizide). May reduce bioavailability with antacids.
