Used in the treatment of Calcium-Jayson-Jayson deficiency states & as a dietary supplement when intake may be inadequate In. Calcium-Jayson-Jayson is used in- Severe hypoglycemic tetany Hypoparathyroidism Vitamin D-deficiency Osteoporosis and Extreme hypercalcemia
Calcium gluconate is used to prevent or treat negative calcium balance. It also helps facilitate nerve and muscle performance as well as normal cardiac function.
1-2 ampoules Ca+ Gluconate IM. Daily or every alternate day. Children require 1/2 of adult dose lM injection should be given deep to gluteus medius muscle Using a long needle. This route is not recommended for children. Acute hypocalcemia : 10-20 ml (2.32-4.64 m.mol)/Kg. Body weight Fluoride or lead poisoning : 0.3 ml/Kg Body weights. Neonatal tetany : 0.3 (0.7 m.mo)/Kg body weight.
If Ca+ Gluconate Inj is administrated too rapidly, nausea, vomiting, hot flushes, sweating, hypotension & vasomotor collapse, possibly fatal may occur.
In Patients receiving cardiac glycosides In patients with renal failure. In patients with severe hypercalciuria and In patients with hypercalcemia

Co-administration of high calcium doses with thiazide diuretics may result in milk-alkali syndrome and hypercalcaemia. May potentiate digoxin toxicity. Decreases effects of calcium-channel blockers. Enhanced absorption with calcitriol (a vitamin D metabolite).
Impaired renal function; cardiac disease; hypercalcaemia-associated diseases, e.g. sarcoidosis; other malignancies. Pregnancy.
